The first time I made a connection with his music and his face, was when my dad played this Self Titled album on vinyl and, began narrating to me one of the many Introductions to Jazz musicians that I would be blessed with throughout the years; Zawinul’s beginnings with Maynard Ferguson then onto playing with Cannonball Adderley, then my dads favorite, Miles Davis… onto helping pioneer Jazz Fusion and the band Weather Report…
Joe Zawinul is/was Genius.
